Police are appealing for witnesses after a £15,000 Decontamination Unit was stolen from a parking bay on the A23 near Patcham.
The trailer was left at 2.30pm on Tuesday, 6 October between the Black Lion pub and the Patcham roundabout. When the workmen who had hired it returned the next day at 2.30pm it was gone.
The white unit is approximately the size of a burger van and is used by staff to shower in after dealing with asbestos.
Police Enquiry Officer Heather Van Dyke said: “The unit was left on the side of a busy road and would need to have been attached to another vehicle in order to take it away.
“Any witnesses are asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference 0841 of 07/10.”
