Police investigating the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Hove have arrested two men.
A 22-year-old man from Brighton has been bailed until Thursday 12 November having been held on suspicion of rape.
A 20-year-old man from Brighton has been released and faces no further action, Sussex Police said.
After the girl reported the attack, which happened in an alley next to the Bon Accord nursing home, the force said: “The girl was walking along the north side of New Church Road, Hove, when she was grabbed from behind by a man who forced her into St Philip’s Mews, an alley between Hogarth Road and Richardson Road, and assaulted her.”
This evening (Thursday 15 October) Sussex Police said: “Detectives investigating the rape of a 15-year-old girl in the Hove area in the early hours of Sunday 27 September have arrested two men on suspicion of rape.
“One of the men aged 20 from Brighton has since been released without further action and the other man aged 22 also from Brighton has been released on bail until 12 November.
“Officers want to thank the public for their assistance in coming forward with information. The investigation is continuing.”
