Police are seeking witnesses to a crash on the A259 Fishersgate Terrace, Portslade, at its junction with William Street, in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured.
It happened at 11.15am on Sunday when a green Suzuki 500 motorcycle was in collision with a green Mazda MX-5 sports car.
The motorcyclist, a 51-year-old man from Bognor Regis, sustained several broken ribs, a broken collar bone and other injuries. He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, and detained for treatment.
The Mazda driver, a 57-year-old man from Shoreham-by-Sea, was unhurt.
