A 16-year-old Hove boy has been charged with robbery and having an imitation gun, Sussex Police said this morning (Saturday 26 September).
The boy is also due to be brought before Brighton magistrates today.
He is accused of holding up a corner shop and stealing £500 at gunpoint from a 20-year-old shop assistant.
The force said: “A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the robbery at Elm Stores, Hangleton, Hove, on (Wednesday) 16 September.
“The boy from Hangleton has been charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.
“He has been remanded to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 26 September.”
