The Labour MP for Hove, Peter Kyle, has raised overcrowding on commuter trains from Brighton and Hove in a meeting with rail bosses.
He met Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) in the week that the Department for Transport (DfT) published its top ten most overcrowded services.
At number seven on the list was the 7.24am Brighton to Bedford train – now the 7.22am – run by GTR.
Mr Kyle said: “I met with GTR earlier this week and told them just how frustrated many of my constituents are with overcrowding on services into London.
“I am hopeful that planned works will help address this but I will continue to lobby the franchise, Network Rail and Rail Minister Claire Perry to ensure South Coast commuters don’t get a raw deal.”
