A man has been arrested after a woman was raped in a flat in Brighton on Sunday night (23 August), Sussex Police said this morning (Wednesday 26 August).
Detectives do not believe that the woman, who lives in the Queen’s Park area, knew her attacker.
They issued a public appeal yesterday (Tuesday 25 August) to help trace a named suspect.
The force said: “A 30-year-old man was arrested in north London on Tuesday evening (25 August) on suspicion of the rape of a woman in a Brighton flat.
“The man is currently in custody for interview and further inquiries.
“At 8am on Monday (24 August) police had received a report that at about 10.30pm on the previous evening (Sunday 23 August) a man had forced his way into a flat in Upper Park Place, Brighton, and raped the 38-year old woman living there.”
