Albion defender Lewis Dunk has ended months of speculation by signing a new five year deal with the club . Making him a Seagulls player until 2020.
The 23 year old who graduated through the clubs youth and under 21 teams agreed the new deal earlier today.
Dunk said ” I am absolutely delighted to commit my long term future to this club .I know there has been a lot of speculation but I have been with this club for a long time and genuinely had little desire to go anywhere else”
Manager Chris Hughton added ” we made it clear to Lewis that both the club and I saw him as key player for us and a big part of this clubs future.
“For me, as manager, what is really encouraging is the desire shown by the club to extend his contract – given the level of interest with him from elsewhere.
Brighton born Dunk has courted some controversy during his time at the Albion . However he had a breakthrough season as Albion struggled in the Championship last term . And was the clubs top scorer with 6 goals.
