Firefighters put out a kitchen blaze in Brighton on Wednesday (12 August) and have issued a warning urging people to take care when cooking.
The fire service said: “East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service would like to remind the public to take care when cooking after they were called to reports of a fire in Brighton.
“Four appliances from Preston Circus, Roedean and Hove and one officer were mobilised to the address on Phoenix Rise at 2.08pm.
“On arrival they found there to be a fire in the kitchen of the property.
“All persons were accounted for.
“Firefighters used two breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames.
“The cause of the fire was accidental due to a pan of food catching alight.
“Crews carried out a home safety visit with the occupier before leaving at 2.28pm.”
