Chris Hughton told Brighton and Hove News this morning (Monday 17 August) that Albion have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match at Huddersfield Town tomorrow (Tuesday 18 August).
Bobby Zamora has a slight groin strain and will now not get a run-out in the under-21 match at the Amex this evening.
Hughton said of Zamora: “It is part precaution he is behind everyone. But he has been doing some good work. He will be one that we will end up fast-tracking. We will assess him over the next two or three days but I can see us at some stage getting him involved with the squad.”
However, Hughton would not drawn specifically on Zamora’s possible involvement against Blackburn at the Amex this weekend.
Hughton also revealed that new signing Jamie Murphy will be added to the squad to travel to the John Smith’s Stadium.
Brighton and Hove News then reminded the Albion boss that it will be exactly six years to the day that Huddersfield thrashed Albion 7-1 and asked how he thought Albion now being top of the league might offer the home side an extra incentive.
He replied: “We are on the back of two league wins which we are absolutely delighted with. But I think the results so far in this division are probably a reflection of what this division is. I think there isn’t a side you can’t see winning games.”
“I don’t know if there will be a runaway team but it will be very competitive. As for an incentive, they will be at home and will see it as an opportunity to get a win and will want to be competitive.”
Albion will fly up north later today.
