A teenager has reported being raped in Woodingdean late last night (Wednesday 12 August).
Sussex Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses to anyone who might have seen a woman attacked in Woodingdean.
“The victim, a 19-year-old woman, had got off the number 2 bus at The Ridgeway shortly before midnight on Wednesday and walked north in Crescent Drive North.
“She stopped walking as she felt unwell and as she did so was approached by a man in a car.
“He got out and helped her, then pushed her against a wall and raped her. He drove away along Crescent Drive North.”
Detective Sergeant Mors Lambert said: “The suspect is described as white, bald and late twenties and stocky. He was wearing a t-shirt and jeans.
“The victim has described the car he was driving as an old-style VW saloon car which was possibly silver or light in colour.
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the Woodingdean area who might have seen this car or saw a woman get off the bus or saw her in Crescent Drive North.”
