Police investigating a serious assault in Bartholomew Square, Brighton, during the early hours of Sunday, 2 August have arrested a man in West London.
The 24-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has been bailed until 26 September while enquiries continue.
Detective Constable Julian Harrison-Jones, of Brighton CID, said: “Witnesses to the incident, involving an assault on a 30-year-old man, are still being sought.
“In particular, we’re keen to talk to a woman and several men believed to have been in the area at the time who may have seen what happened.”
The victim, who sustained serious head injuries, is still being treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. His condition is said to be improving.
