Sussex are through to the quarter finals of the T20 cricket cup after their final group match against Surrey was rained off this evening (Friday 24 July).
The two sides were due to meet at the Oval but the match was abandoned before the first ball could be bowled.
As a result, the match was a “no result”, meaning that each county was awarded a point.
So Sussex will host Northamptonshire in the quarter finals on Wednesday 12 August at the County Ground, in Hove.
The Sussex fixture was one of six T20 matches to be rained off this evening.
The next match is a one-day game against Lancashire at Horsham on Sunday (26 July).
