A motorcyclist from Brighton has been banned from the road after being caught over the drink drive limit at breakfast time.
Sussex Police said that Trevor Saunders, 30, was arrested at 8am on Thursday 4 June after his Suzuki GSXR motorbike was stopped in Lewes Road, Brighton.
He had 50 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of his breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Saunders, of Eaton Place, Kemp Town, pleaded guilty to drink driving when he appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 25 June.
He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £330 and ordered to pay £235 costs and a £33 victim surcharge, Sussex Police said.
The force said that the public could text officers on 65999 with the details of people suspected of drink or drug driving – or make contact through www.operationcrackdown.co.uk.
If someone is driving while over the limit, the force said, call 999.
