A woman tried to snatch another woman’s rucksack close to Brighton seafront.
Sussex Police said today (Wednesday 17 June): “The 36-year-old victim, from Hove, had just finished work when she was approached by the thief between 5.25pm and 5.40pm on Wednesday (10 June) in Pool Valley.
“The thief tried to grab the victim’s bag and pulled her hair but then ran off empty handed with a man when the victim screamed.
“The woman was white, in her twenties, 5ft 4in and of large build with long red hair in a ponytail.
“She was wearing black jeans and a black cardigan with a white top underneath and white trainers.
“The man was white, 5ft 7in and appeared to be younger than the woman. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans. He was also wearing a cap and sunglasses.”
Detective Constable Mel Wauchope said: “Although the victim did not lose her rucksack, she has been left very shaken by what happened.
“We need to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who saw a man and a woman running out of Pool Valley onto the seafront at about 5.30pm.
“If you saw or heard anything, please contact us.”
