Brighton and Hove Albion have been drawn away to Southend United for the first round of the League Cup.
The Seagulls will travel to Roots Hall in the week beginning Monday 10 August for the Capital One Cup clash.
The draw took place today (Tuesday 16 June).
Albion’s website said: “Albion were one of 36 seeded teams in Tuesday’s draw and have been pitted against Phil Brown’s newly promoted League One side.
“It will be the first game between the two sides since the Seagulls recorded a 1-0 win over the Shrimpers in a League One fixture back in April 2010.
“The tie will be played in the week commencing 10 August and further details, including ticket information, will be confirmed in due course.”
