A Hove petrol station has closed down because the cost of upgrading it was not worth the investment.
The Co-op store and Texaco garage closed down on May 9 having only recently reopened after a lorry drove into it, damaging the canopy.
A spokesperson for The Co-operative Group said: “Our store and petrol filling station on the seafront in Hove closed on 9 May.
“The decision was taken with the greatest reluctance, and is due to a requirement for significant improvements to the site which are not cost effective.
“It is in no way a reflection on the commitment and hard work of the team. Every effort will be made to find alternative employment for all colleagues.”
