The two teams other than Brighton and Hove Albion closest to the Amex Stadium – Whitehawk and Lewes – will compete for the Sussex Senior Cup today (Saturday 16 May).
The competition, which dates back to 1883, had its final at the old Goldstone Ground until 1995.
Lewes last won the trophy in 2005 while Whitehawk were victorious in 2012.
The match will be refereed by John Pike, from Worthing, who sent off a Lewes player in controversial circumstances in a match against Margate earlier this season.
Stefan Iovan, the current assistant manager of the Romanian national team, has the distinction of winning both a Sussex Senior Cup winners medal and a UEFA Champions League winners medal.
Iovan was playing for Albion reserves when they beat the now defunct Langney Sports in 1992. And he won his European medal as captain of Steaua Bucharest who defeated Barcelona in 1986.
The match kicks off at 3pm at the Amex Stadium.
