Brighton and Hove Buses has told a kebab shop to stop using its logo after the takeaway sent out scores of leaflets with its distinctive branding.
King Kebab and Pizza on London Road sent out the flyers last week, using the words Brighton & Hove with the red, orange and yellow dots over the i.
But it replaced the words “essential travel for our city” in smaller type with “healthy and quality food”.
The leaflets soon came to the attention of the bus company, and King Kebab has now agreed to stop using it.
Manager Burhan Boyraz said: “We just wanted to use the logo because it’s quite eyecatching. It looks like a professional job.
“We didn’t know that you couldn’t do that until they called us up. The bus manager said that they’ll let us off this time but next time don’t put it on the flyers.
“Next time we will design our own logo and they accepted that.
“I didn’t think it was going to affect the bus company, our using their logo.”
A spokeswoman for Brighton and Hove Buses said: “We are aware of this issue and have the matter in hand.”
