Police are trying to track down a group of people who could help find a man who sexually assaulted a woman on a beach in Brighton.
The 22-year-old victim was assaulted in the early hours of 28 February by a man she had met earlier that night.
They had gone to sit on the beach close to the Coalition nightclub when the man tried to force himself on the woman.
Grainy CCTV footage recorded in the city centre shows a group of people who police believe may have seen the attacker and could be able to identify him.
The attacker was described as an Arabic man who had tanned skin and was bald, in his 5ft 3in and of average build.
He was in his his late 20s or early 30s and was wearing a brown leather jacket, jeans and a white and black red striped t-shirt.
A man who was seen with him earlier that evening was tanned, slim and in his late 20s or early 30s. He was wearing a beanie hat.
Officers have spent the last two months speaking to witnesses and trying to identify the attacker but have so far been unable to find the man.
Detective Constable Sophie Tullett said: “This has been a very traumatic experience for the victim who is understandably very upset about what happened to her.
“We need to speak to anyone who recognises any of the people in the footage and who could tell us where they are so we can speak to them.
“Although the footage is of very poor quality, I am hopeful that someone will recognise some of them. It could be that the group know each other so someone may recognise them together.
“If you can help us at all, please get in touch.”
