Thousands of commuters from Brighton and Hove face delays and disruption on their way to work this morning (Monday 11 May).
Trains are being held up by a signal failure in the Balcombe area.
The main train company for the area, Southern, said: “Delays expected between Haywards Heath and Three Bridges following signalling problems near Balcombe.”
Network Rail said that the delays were expected to last until at least 9am.
The track and infrastructure company said: “A signalling problem between Haywards Heath and Three Bridges is causing delays of up to 25 minutes to trains between Brighton, Lewes, Hove and Three Bridges.
“Trains from Littlehampton towards London that usually run via Hove may be diverted via Horsham.”
