Brighton & Hove Albion 0 Watford 1
Watford lead Albion by a goal to nil after Troy Deeney pounced on a mistake by Seagulls captain Gordon Greer.
Albion have had the better chances. Chris O’Grady got the ball stuck under his feet when well placed to shoot, then forced Heurelho Gomes into a great save.
Earlier Albion should have had penalty when O’Grady was nudged over in the box.
David Stockdale made a good stop from Ikechi Anya who looked offside and was later replaced by Daniel Tozser in a tactical switch.
Craig Mackail-Smith was given a great reception by Albion fans as he warned up. Former Brighton League vice-chairman Alex Savage told Brighton and Hove News: “Albion need to show a gung-ho attitude in the second half.”
