Caroline Lucas was one of two panellists with a Brighton connection on the BBC One programme Question Time tonight (Thursday 9 April).
Dr Lucas, who became Britain’s first Green MP when she was elected to represent Brighton Pavilion, addressed questions on political mud-slinging, non-domicile tax status, the proposed EU referendum and university tuition fees.
She was joined on the panel by the Daily Telegraph blogger and leader writer Tim Stanley, who spent a year as a lecturer at Sussex University.
The other panel members were the Conservative Environment Secretary Liz Truss, Liberal Democrat Business Secretary Vince Cable and Labour Shadow Foreign Secretary Douglas Alexander.
The programme was presented by David Dimbleby from Bristol where the Green Party has six councillors.
Mr Dimbleby quoted Caroline Lucas saying that fellow panellist Vince Cable was so plausible that he could make eating babies sound like a good idea.
I’m surprised that Dr. Lucas travelled all the way to Bristol for Question Time, when the greens have such an eloquent speaker in the form of their leader Natalie Bennett?
Seconded.Maybe Natalie had another cold?
