A man was treated for breathing in smoke after a tumble dryer fire in Hove.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that fire crews from Preston Circus and Hove were called to the fire in Victoria Grove, just off Second Avenue, yesterday lunchtime (31 March).
The fire service said: “Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to blow smoke from the building.
“One adult male was treated for smoke inhalation. He was left in the care of paramedics.”
The fire service said that electrical appliances, especially those that run at high speeds and contain motors, like washing machines and tumble dryers, should be serviced annually by a qualified electrician.
