A driver almost three times over the drink limit was caught after he reversed into a parked car in Brighton.
Hamilton Smith, 48, has become the 108th person to be convicted of offences as part of Sussex Police’s Christmas 2014 crackdown on drink and drug driving.
Smith was arrested at 1.25pm on Thursday 11 December after he reversed a Volkswagen Polo into a parked Fiat 500 in Circus Street.
The 48-year-old had 96 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of his breath – almost three times the 35 microgram legal limit.
Smith, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to drink driving and driving without insurance when he appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday 20 March.
He was banned from driving for 24 months and ordered to pay £300 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
