A woman is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed several times in Bevendean in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 28 March).
A 30-year-old man from Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, Sussex Police said.
The force said: “The alarm was raised at 12.08am when a neighbour entered a property in Meadowview and discovered a quantity of blood.
“Around the same time a 19-year-old woman who was suffering from multiple stab wounds, got on to a bus close by.
“The man was arrested after being spotted by a member of the public and a passing off-duty police officer in Coombe Road around 4.10pm on Saturday.
“The woman injured in the attack remains in a serious but stable condition in the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.”
