The man suspected of stabbing a 19-year-old woman in Brighton in the early hours of yesterday morning (Saturday 28 March) has been charged with attempted murder.
Jamiv Usman, 30, unemployed, of Meadowview, Bevendean, is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court in the morning (Monday 30 March).
Sussex Police said that Usman had been “charged with attempted murder following an incident in the city in the early hours of Saturday morning”.
The force said: “Police were called to a property in Meadowview a few minutes after midnight.
“They discovered that a 19-year-old woman suffering multiple stab wounds had boarded a bus near by and an ambulance had been called.
“She was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton where she remained on Sunday (29 March).
“Her injuries, while serious, are not considered life-threatening.
“Usman will appear before magistrates at Brighton on Monday.”
