Seven people charged with conspiracy to supply heroin appeared in custody at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (26 March).
The charges follow arrests and seizures of drugs and cash by Sussex Police officers from Brighton in an operation on Tuesday (24 March).
Lea Smith, 44, of Natal Road, Brighton, Kingsley Walls 42, of Langley Crescent, Woodingdean, Lee Mack, 48, of Sheepcote Valley Caravan Park, Whitehawk, Ronnie Edwards 48, of Chiddingly Close, Whitehawk, Sean Davidson 47, of Downhill View, Woodingdean, and Arthur Jones 53, of Downs Avenue, Eastbourne, were remanded in custody to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Friday 17 April.
Julie Coltard, 41, of Langley Crescent, Woodingdean, was released on court bail to appear on the same date as the other six.
A 40-year-old man, a 43-year-old man, two other men, aged 29 and 62, and two other women, aged 62 and 28, arrested on suspicion of conspiracy in Brighton, have been interviewed and released on police bail until Wednesday 13 May.
A 47-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman, both from Liverpool, are still in police custody for interview and further inquiries.
India Williams, 23, of Langridge Drive, Portslade, has been charged with obstructing police and is due to appear on bail at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 9 April.
