A man has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of a woman who went missing from a hospital in Hove.
Christopher Jeffrey-Shaw, 26, of Lakeside, in Beckenham, south London, was charged with murdering Brighton University student Janet Muller.
He appeared at Guildford Crown Court yesterday (Thursday 19 March) and was remanded in custody until Thursday 9 April.
Miss Muller, 21, went missing from Mill View Hospital, in Nevill Avenue, Hangleton, on Thursday 12 March.
Her body was found in the boot of a burning Volkswagen Jetta the next afternoon (Friday 13 March).
The saloon car had been abandoned and set on fire in Rusper Road, close to the Ifield Golf and Country Club, Crawley.
Post-mortem tests indicate that Miss Muller, who was studying at Brighton University in Eastbourne, died from breathing in smoke.
