A Brighton man has been charged with GBH after a teenager was smashed over the head with a bottle on a late night train.
The 19-year-old victim from East Grinstead was attacked on a London to Brighton train at about 10.20pm on Saturday, January 31.
British Transport appealed for witnesses to the attack and yesterday, Christopher Moodey, 36, of Egremont Place in Brighton, was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm (GBH) in relation to the incident.
He was remanded in custody, and appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday, 11 March).
Moodey was further remanded until Tuesday, 2 April, when he will appear at Lewes Crown Court.
Detective Constable Nigel Craig said: “I would like to thank the media for their help with this witness appeal.”
