Reading 2 Brighton & Hove Albion 1
1) Despite Jake Forster-Caskey being on the pitch, Chris O’Grady was preferred to take Albion’s second half penalty, which he scored.
2 ) David Stockdale made a triple save during a goal-mouth scramble in the second half, two of these while committed and already lying on the ground.
3) Casper Ankergren was named as a substitute for the first time since the home match against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday 8 November. Jake Forster-Caskey made his first appearance since the away draw at Cardiff City exactly one month ago.
4 ) Chris O’Grady’s penalty was Albion’s first away goal since Saturday 10 January.
5) Three Albion defenders were booked for separate incidents in the final three minutes of the match. Lewis Dunk, Joe Bennett and caption Gordon Greer all received yellow cards. But by then Jamie Mackie’s brace had wrapped up the points for Reading.
Albion next take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Amex on Saturday 14 March.
