A woman from Brighton has been banned from the roads after being caught drink driving in the centre of the town.
Tracey Elwood was arrested at 1.25am on Sunday 21 December after officers saw her weaving across the road in Richmond Terrace, Brighton.
She was slowing down and accelerating for no apparent reason, Sussex Police said.
When questioned, Elwood said that she knew she would fail a breath test as she had been drinking. She was twice the drink-drive limit.
Elwood, 46, of Hartington Road, Brighton, pleaded guilty to drink driving when she appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 17 February.
She was banned from driving for 17 months and ordered to pay a £110 fine, £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Jaguar driver Timothy Woods was arrested at 8pm on Monday 22 December after officers stopped him in Manor Hall Road, Southwick.
Woods, 56, of Harbour Way, Shoreham, was almost twice the drink-drive limit. He admitted drink driving when he appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 18 February.
He was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay a £500 fine, £85 costs and a £50 victim surcharge.
