East Sussex Fire and Rescue has thanked members of the public for their vigilance during this week’s firefighters’ strike.
The 24-hour strike ended at 7am this morning, and firefighters providing cover yesterday were called to a spate of minor fires in Brighton.
At 5.51pm crews were called to the public toilets at the Velo Cafe on The Level, Brighton, following reports of a small fire, which was out on arrival.
Meanwhile, at 5.56pm crews were called to a fire in a recycling bin in Regent Street, Brighton.
Shortly afterwards, at 6.53pm, crews attended another fire in a recycling bin in Providence Place, Brighton.
