People are being asked to have their say on the amount of parking that should be included in new developments in the city.
Brighton and Hove City Council is drawing up new guidance on the provision of all types of parking in new developments, and wants to hear the views of residents, visitors, developers, and other interested parties.
Consultation on the Parking Standards Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) opened on February 13 and continues until 5pm on March 27.
Copies of the draft Parking Standards SPD and more background is available on the council website here.
Copies are also available in Jubilee Library, Hove Library, Hove Town Hall customer service centre in Norton Road and Bartholomew House customer services centre in Bartholomew Square. Copies can also be requested by calling the council’s transport Policy and strategy team on 01273 292368.
Comments can be emailed to local.transport@brighton-hove.gov.uk or submitted in writing to Brighton & Hove City Council, Transport Policy and Strategy, Room 400, Kings House, Grand Avenue, Hove, BN3 2LS.
The results of the consultation will be considered by members of the council’s economic development and culture committee at a future meeting, before a final decision is taken on the parking standards. Once agreed, the standards will be taken into account when considering planning applications.
