A small scaffolding tower appeared on the top of Brighton Town Hall this week after its flagpole broke in high winds.
Amused at the erection, Moshimo tweeted this picture of the tower

A spokesman for Brighton and Hove City Council explained: “The scaffolding tower was needed to fix the broken halyard (rope used to hoist the flag up and down) on the flagpole which was torn in the recent high winds.”
He added scaffolding was used rather than taking down the pole as this was the safest way of making the repairs.
I’m glad they’re spending our council tax so wisely on these vital public services. I for one can’t wait to pay an extra 5.9%. Think how many extra scaffold towers they could put up then!
Or could have used a cherrypicker!
