A man from Brighton has been charged with drink driving after being pulled over less than a mile from his home in the morning rush hour.
James Slaney, 50, was arrested at 8.45am on Thursday 4 December after he was stopped at a roadside check in Preston Road, Brighton.
Slaney, of Roundhill Crescent, Brighton, has been released on bail to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 26 February.
Sussex Police said that he was one of a further two people to have been charged as part of the annual Christmas crackdown, bringing the total to 117.
The force said that 33 people had been convicted of offences so far since the campaign started at the beginning of December.
