Brighton’s newest theatre, the Rialto, is to open with a performance of the Treason Show.
The satire and topical comedy show, directed by Mark Brailsford, will be staged at the Rialto on Thursday 4 December, with two other acts booked for the next day and the day after.
Marilyn Monroe tribute act Alive and Swinging is due to perform at the venue, in Dyke Road, Brighton, on Friday 5 December.
And on Saturday 6 December the blues rock trio For You Blue are scheduled to perform in the Rialto bar.
The Rialto, which is less than 200 yards from the Clock Tower in Brighton, is being converted from a disused night club by Treason Productions and Pretty Villain, two local production companies.
Pretty Villain founder Roger Kay, who also started the Just Lets property business, is the main investor in the project.
It is hoped that the Rialto Theatre will become a home for new writing.
A planning application has been submitted to Brighton and Hove City Council.
