A young man was attacked with a bottle in the smoking area of a West Street bar in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The 22-year-old local man was set upon by two men in the Bedrock Bar at 1.20am
He was treated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital for head injuries believed to have been caused by a bottle and was discharged later the same morning.
The first suspect is described as being of mixed race, in his early twenties, 6ft, with black hair which was short on the sides and longer on top. The second man was described as black, in his twenties and of skinny build. He had very short black hair.
Police arrived shortly after the incident and arrested a 22-year old man on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm. He was later released on police bail until 6 January 2015 while enquiries continue.
