A 20-year-old woman has been sexually assaulted near the Royal Pavilion in Brighton.
The woman was attacked while she was in an alleyway leading to the bus stops outside the Pavilion in Old Steine.
She was grabbed by the arm by a man who then touched her indecently, Sussex Police said today (Wednesday 22 October).
The force said that the assault happened at about 3am on Tuesday 14 October.
He made off when someone else walked into the alleyway, leaving the woman with bruising to her arm where she was grabbed.
The suspect was described as a 5ft 7in tall stocky white man, 50 to 60 years old and with shoulder-length unkempt hair.
He was wearing a grubby white shirt with a blue checked overshirt.
PC Stuart Ellis said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have been near the alleyway or saw the suspect walking off.”
