A mugger snatched a bag from a woman on Brighton seafront at the weekend, Sussex Police said today (Tuesday 21 October).
The 24-year-old Brighton woman was robbed at about 7.15pm on Sunday (19 October) as she walked along the Lower Esplanade towards the subway to West Street.
As she approached the subway she was pushed to the ground from behind and her shoulder bag was stolen.
Her bag contained a purple laptop with her university course work on it.
Her attacker was described as wearing a black hooded top with the hood up, grey jogging bottoms and black trainers which had white colouring on the heel.
The woman suffered a graze to her hand when she fell to the ground.
Detective Sergeant Simon Dunn said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
“In particular we would like to talk to a woman passer-by who helped the victim to her feet and assisted her through the underpass to West Street.”
