A 26-year-old Brighton man was attacked in broad daylight in a busy street.
The victim was walking along Lewes Road, near St Peter’s Church, between 1pm and 2pm on Monday 8 September when a man grabbed him and dragged him into Richmond Place.
The man took his wallet, mobile phone and his watch before throwing the items back at him, Sussex Police said.
The pair then ended up in Morley Street where the attacker punched the victim, causing bruising and swelling to his head.
Police said that the attacker was described as black, 25 to 29 years old, 5ft 8in tall and of medium build with short black hair. He was wearing black shorts and a v-neck short-sleeved polo shirt.
Detective Constable Aran Boyt said: “We have been following lines of inquires to find out what happened to the victim.
“Please get in contact if you saw anything or have any information which could help our investigation.
