A burglar or burglars stole gold jewellery from a home in Brighton when the owners popped out.
The break in happened between 11.30am and 12.30pm on Thursday (2 October) at a property in Cowfold Road, Manor Hill.
Gold bangles, gold chains and a gold wedding ring were stolen, Sussex Police said.
Detective Constable Scott Moore said: “The victims are very distressed as not only was their home violated but the intruders caused a considerable amount of damage forcing entry and searching for valuables.
“The owners had only left their home for an hour so it is possible the offenders were watching the property and waited for them to go out.
“We need to speak to anyone who was in Cowfold Road around lunchtime on Thursday who saw someone acting suspiciously or anyone who has seen any unusual vehicles in the area.
“If you know anything at all, please contact us.”
