The police helicopter searched open areas around Brighton in the early hours of this morning after a man went missing.
The helicopter was heard above the city in the early hours of the morning.
A police spokeswoman said: “There is some concern for the welfare of a Brighton man in his early fifties who has not been seen at his home since yesterday evening, Wednesday (1 October).
“As part of our enquiries a police helicopter checked some open areas in the early hours of this morning, Thursday (2 October). The matter is not being treated as suspicious but our enquiries are continuing.”
Update: the man was found this morning safe and well.
I got woken up by that bloody helicopter at 2 in the morning.
I have to say that on the strength of what it says their press release, it seems a rather odd way to look for someone in an urban area in the middle of the night. But I’m sure Sussex Police know best.
