A crash on Hove seafront caused jams throughout the morning rush hour today (Tuesday 30 September).
The accident happened at about 5.40am on the westbound side of the A259 Kingsway by King’s Gardens between the corner of Fourth Avenue and Third Avenue.
A Renault Megane saloon crashed into a parked and unattended Nissan Micra.
Two men in the Megane, a 30-year-old and a 27-year-old, were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with injuries which were not initially assessed as life threatening.
The road was blocked on the seafront side. Traffic was taking turns to use the eastbound side of the road to get past but queues were reported.
Sussex Police have since closed the seafront road in both directions while investigators examine the scene and the wreckage is remove. Traffic was diverted along Church Road.
