Trains were halted between Brighton and Hove this morning after a woman badly injured her arm on the platform at Aldrington Station.
The 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital with cuts to her arm by ambulance. Police believe they were sustained due to an accident.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: “We were called to Aldrington station, Hove, just after 11.30am on Monday, 29 September, after reports of an injured woman on the platform.
“Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance service also attended, and a 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment to cuts to her arm.
“Initial enquiries indicate her injuries were as a result of an accident.”

The Southern website says: “Emergency services are dealing with an incident at Aldrington and this is causing delays of up to 30 minutes between Brighton / Hove and Worthing.
“There is no firm estimate yet of how long disruption will last but it is likely to continue until at least 1pm.”
The incident happened at about 11.30am. Trains started running shortly after midday, but Aldrington Station remains closed.
