Burglars have stolen thousands of pounds in cash and a large quantity of decorative gold Asian jewellery from a home in Brighton.
A home in Manor Hill was broken into and searched between 11.40am and 1.30pm on Tuesday, 16 September
When the owners returned home they discovered that more than £8,000 in savings had been stolen as well as gold jewellery worth more than £10,000 and a 14-inch Dell Latitude laptop.
The jewellery included large and small necklaces, earrings, bangles and rings.
Police today launched an appeal for witnesses. Detective Constable Scott Moore said: “Whoever broke into the home searched it thoroughly before leaving with the jewellery, cash and laptop.
“They may have been in the home for a length of time while they carried out the search so it is possible that different people could have seen them breaking in and leaving.
“We need to speak to anyone who was in Manor Hill last Tuesday or the days beforehand who may have seen people acting suspiciously or anyone who has been offered decorative Asian gold jewellery for sale.
“If you know anything at all, please contact us.”
