A Brighton charity is running one of four projects in the south east to have been awarded lottery grants totalling just over £1 million yesterday (Wednesday 24 September).
The money comes from the Big Lottery Fund Reaching Communities programme.
The Terrence Higgins Trust will use its grant of £143,621 to address the rise in HIV/STI diagnoses among men, the Big Lottery Fund said.
The funding will enable it to target those who are typically hard to reach and aren’t engaging with mainstream services.
The Big Lottery Fund said: “A development strand will see more training given to healthcare professionals so that they are equipped with up to date knowledge about the issues surrounding sexual health and can provide beneficiaries with improved access to the support they need to live healthier lives.”
