A small epidemic of large jellyfish has hit the city’s beaches this summer.
The exceptionally warm seas have seen swimmers flocking to the coast to take a dip.
But with the balmy waters comes an increase in the number of jellyfish. The Newhaven Coastguard warned swimmers to watch out for them in July.
Since then, several large specimens have been spotted in Brighton and Hove – and today, Robin Zaagman shot this brief video of one washed up just to the east of the Palace Pier:
