Police are today appealing for witnesses after a 30-year-old was robbed by a man who offered to share a taxi with him in Brighton.
The victim left the Market Diner and began walking towards Pavilion Gardens in the early hours of Sunday (14 September) when he met the man.
They agreed to share the cost of a taxi as they were headed in the same direction and both were taken to Eastern Road, close to Brighton College.
Once they had got out of the taxi the robber became aggressive and threatened the victim, at about 1.45am.
The robber was white, skinny and 26 or 27 with light brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a white shirt.
Detective Constable Shirley White said: “The victim gave the man his money as he was worried that the robber might have a weapon.
“We need to speak to anyone who recognises the description of the suspect or who saw the victim being robbed.”
