The latest bin strike by Brighton and Hove’s CityClean workers starts today.

Members of the GMB union are walking out in an ongoing row over pay and conditions which has been ongoing for almost five years.
They also started working to rule from Friday, which means a ban on overtime and no picking up rubbish not placed in bins or recycling boxes.
The strike follows months of unreliable collections, often due to trucks breaking down, which means rubbish is already piling up on the city’s streets.

I saw some binmen emptying a bin this very morning! Did the strike only last a day, or were they scabs?
