A roof fire in Kemp Town has closed Edward Street to traffic this evening.
A crew from Roedean Fire Station were called to an address in Devonshire Place at 8.22pm.
As of 10pm, fire crews were still there, with police in attendance too.
Because the fire was at a property right on the corner of the junction with Edward Street, the fire engine is blocking the road.
A police spokesman said the situation would be assessed in the morning with a view to any investigations.
Buses have been diverted down Upper Rock Gardens to the seafront.
